Συνολικά 205 παίκτες έβαλαν υποψηφιότητα για το φετινό ντραφτ του ΝΒΑ. Από αυτούς οι 163 προέρχονται από κολέγια, ενώ 42 είναι από τον υπόλοιπο κόσμο. Ανάμεσά τους βρίσκονται ο Γιώργος Καλαϊτζάκης, που ανήκει στον Παναθηναϊκό, ο Νίκος Ρογκαβόπουλος της ΑΕΚ και ο Αλεξέι Ποκουσέφσκι του Ολυμπιακού.

Οι παίκτες έχουν δικαίωμα να αποσύρουν την υποψηφιότητά τους δέκα μέρες πριν την διεξαγωγή των ντραφτ. Η ημερομηνία που είχε οριστεί ήταν η 25η Ιουνίου, αλλά ίσως υπάρξει παράταση στη διαδικασία λόγω της πανδημίας.
